Kelly Burton
Kelly Burton has been a professional graphic designer and multi-media artist for 35 years. Her specialty is large-scale event design, marketing, and publishing. After spending the last 15 years as a Creative Director with a large team of designers, she began to yearn to create personal art pieces.
What followed was a blending of disciplines that became a signature style of multi-media digital collage. She uses her photography of nature, urban settings, macro textures, and even fabric to create layers of color and symbolism in her pieces. Some pieces have up to 30 layers of collage, color saturation and opacity treatments.
She recently brought her love of art, the tarot, and bees together in a series of three tarot and oracle decks. The decks have been available in six countries, and it has become quite an exciting cottage industry from her in-home studio in Colorado, USA. A portion of the profit is donated to The Bee Conservancy to help with the education and stewardship of all species of bees.
Every detail of the decks must be an experience. The product and the packaging are all part of the art form. The colors must grab you, opening the box must be exciting, the card stock must be of the highest quality, and the gilded edges gleaming. The symbols and messages are all designed to bring you into an immersive experience.
