Joana is from Portugal, but has lived in London since 2008.
She gained a degree in Economics and was fortunate enough to be able to follow her passion and started working in a bank in Portugal.
She had visited London and fallen in love with it, so when it was time to move on from her first job she found her next one in London working as a market analyst identifying trends on Portuguese markets. Then Joana went on to become a Financial Dealer and Market Analyst, before moving on to become an Internal Auditor where she qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Her career progressed over the years but what was once a love affair became the opposite. The further up the ladder she went the more dispirited, working long hours, and having huge responsibility at a young age started to weigh her down.
She started asking herself, “What value am I adding?” and felt there was a loss of autonomy and decision making power. She had a coach, who enabled her to step back and think about what she really wanted to do now. This eventually led to her starting her own business as a coach and mentor, helping women who have become demotivated, or are stuck, women wanting help with getting promoted and seeking clarity about where their careers are going.
Now Joana is truly living her dream career, in the city she still loves. She is married and has a young daughter and a son who is at school.
Her Portuguese origins also means that she is bilingual, and can support women in both English and Portuguese. Welcome aboard Joana, another great asset to the team.
