Melissa is the successful owner and manager of two children’s nurseries offering full day care. An inspirational leader with a wealth of experience in early years education.
Melissa was always keen to work with children, volunteering at the local primary school, during her A Levels, to support dance and craft activities. She continued to undertake these types of activities as well as working for Marks and Spencer and Hertfordshire County Council as an Athletics Coach, whilst studying for her Bachelor’s degree.
Melissa also worked as a Tutor, and a Freelance Assessor before eventually taking the step to open first nursery business in 2013. she says about her career,
I have been a qualified primary teacher (B.Ed. Hons QTS) for 23 full academic years and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience, working in Hertfordshire both as a teacher, advanced skills professional and Educational Consultant. Alongside this I have been a qualified Childcare Assessor for 15 years, working nationally to support learners completing their childcare and play work qualifications. Most recently I have owned my own nurseries for ten years. This started as an Ofsted Outstanding childminder 2013, and then grew to where I now own and lead two full day care nurseries.
Melissa is also passionate about advocating for working mothers, supporting people back to work after a break and supporting mental health and well-being. Melissa wants to help people to grow and be confident to succeed and take the next step in their career, business or lives.
Whilst taking a career break to have her two children, she started a child minding business and was judged by Ofsted to be an Outstanding childminder in 2013. Melissa is very keen to be seen as a role model to her two children and to continue working at what she both loves and enjoys.
Great to have you on our team Melissa
